Welcome to Veterinarians to Cats
A Little History Lesson
When veterinarians To Cats first began, there were no computers. Everything was done on paper such as setting up appointments, payroll, and client receipts.
Since that time, we have graduated to using computers. Around 1997, we purchased our first computer system. This system lasted approximately 4 years before it crashed. We are now on our second system and it has been wonderful for printing out information for clients such as: transaction histories, reminder cards, vaccine certificates, statements, estimates for procedures and much more.
Around 1999 or 2000, we started using our LASER surgical unit for several types of surgeries. Our most common LASER procedure is declawing because it is less invasive with a much faster recovery period. Clients responded well to this method of declawing and on average we do about two declaws per day. The LASER has also proven to be very useful in cancer surgeries because it will destroy cancer cells on the margins of the surgical site. This enhances our care of the cancer patients in addition to quite a bit of chemotherapy provided to the feline victims of cancer.
Veterinarians to Cats also offers a state of the art digital x-ray machine. Several of the benefits to offering this modern technology is the increase of the quality of the x-rays, the decrease of radiation exposure to the patient and staff. It also allows consultations/referrals with other doctors of hospitals in a more timely and efficient manner. When doing consultations or referrals in the old style x-rays, the film had to be mailed or physically taken to the other facility. This new technology allows us to download the images to a disc and give them to the client or email the films immediately. This saves valuable time as well as money.
